High quality delivery is core to our culture and philosophy. The Sundaram Finance group has a reputation for quality, and various companies within the wider TVS group have been pioneers and champions in quality management. Five TVS group companies have won the prestigious 'Deming Award' for international quality (out of a total of 15 companies in India, and only 49 companies globally) based on implementation of "TQM" principles.
In both our IT and BPO operations we have a multi-faceted quality program that allows us to meet and exceed our client’s strict quality expectations. Quality is driven both top-down and bottom-up with the involvement of the entire organization. We have a track record of continual improvement, and of process re-engineering to deliver value to clients.
Our quality program encompasses:
ISO9001:2000 – SBS’s quality management system has been certified by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) to be in compliance with the ISO 9001:2000. The certification applies to SBS’ back office support services covering banking/credit processing, insurance related services, employee administration, deposit processing, wealth management, and accounting services.
Suggestion schemes – We have a bottom-up suggestion scheme designed to generate ideas for process improvements (“Kaizen”). The suggestion scheme is actively used and has generated several ideas that have been implemented.
ISO27001-2005: Sundaram Infotech Solutions is certified to be compliant with the ISO27001 data security standard. This standard, which is a successor to the BS-7799 (British Standard), imposes stringent requirements on physical and data security. Our BPO operations are also compliant with ISO27001 requirements, and are in the final stages of certification.
Customized six sigma –SBS is currently undertaking an organization-wide customized Six Sigma quality initiative. This initiative encompasses various elements of six sigma and TQM principles, and applies it in customized form to our processes, tailored to each client. The various quality initiatives within SBS are driven by a quality support group in conjunction with quality champions (business heads and specifically identified team leaders) within the various operations teams.
