Quality Add-on

SIS’s add-on solution for the quality function addresses the need of most enterprises that require inspection of material. The solution also encompasses inspection of finished goods or semi finished and in-process inventory.

The add-on allows accumulation of data about acceptance and rejection of material by lot and batch. It also allows parameterization of benchmark values that determine the criteria for acceptance of material. All observed values are stored over time to allow more sophisticated analysis of inspection data.

Functionality


The quality module leverages the quarantine feature available in Axapta to provide for inspection of materials at various stages of the production process.
An item that is received through registration or packing slip update in the standard inventory can be quarantined automatically, thus making that item unavailable from the standard inventory.

The quarantine procedure is updated for the occurrence of the following events:

  • Created
  • Started
  • Reported as Finished
  • Ended
Other standard functions available in the module are:
  • Designing quality policies like Initial sample Inspection Report, Material Inspection Certificate, and Category setup for each ISIR.
  • Approving the Inspection Layout by taking the latest approved Inspection layout as the standard for the preparation of Inspection Report History of the item.
  • Inspection certification set up and ongoing certification process
  • Analyzing Vendor performance based on Quality Rating. This is done by evaluating the number of Quality supplies done by a particular vendor during a specific period of time. Quality Rating is the critical component of the system that aims to ensure standards for an item.
  • Creation of concession and deviation requests in specific cases and approving such requests
Process Description
  • Prepare Inspection Report History by measuring the dimensions of the item and categorizing them according to the correctness in the dimensions.
  • Generate a Non-Conformance Report for those items where the dimensions deviate from the standard specs.
  • Carry out material inspections based on determined parameters and report upon results of the inspection
  • Check correctness in the dimensions of the item sample and record in the Inspection Report History. After the sample inspection is completed, the items will be accepted in one of the following statuses based on their Inspection Report History.
  • Fully Ok
  • Segregation
  • Concession/Deviation
  • Rework
  • Rejection
  • If applicable, generate concession and deviation requests and get them approved.

Sub-contracting Add-on
Production sub-contracting is a production technique whereby part of a firm’s production is handled by another independent firm. It therefore entails the de-concentration of production processes into smaller units over space.

Production sub-contracting provides our clients with the benefits of reduced investment risks, strengthens control over their labor process, and fosters response to technological and market changes. In addition, it provides production systems with increased viability for long-term growth and development, and promotes exchanges between firms in many forms.

Our Sub-contracting add-on module provides adequate functionality to fit with two scenarios – where material is sent out to a contractor for work and received back and where material is received from a customer and is processed and returned.
The add-on provides the following functionality:
  • Purchase / Sales order for sub-contract work
  • Bill of Material (BOM) configuration for sub-contract items
  • Input – output and scrap norms for sub-contract items
  • Inventory tracking at sub-contractor’s site
  • Quantity matching and scrap accounting
  • Movement of material to / from sub-contractor
Process Description
  • Define BOM relationship for input – output material
  • Define allowable scrap %
  • Select vendor
  • Define service level parameters
  • Initiate work by issuing out / receiving in material
  • Receive / dispatch completed material
  • Update inventory status
  • Track work completion and tie back to material issued / received
  • Track payments against work completed
